My Sister's Fault

I blame my sister. This whole thing got started when my sister gave me one of her cameras just before I moved to Atlanta . I spent the next 5 years there playing and recording guitar for Theodis Ealey and several other well known blues acts     aligned with the indie label Iciban Records. My sister's camera helped me record my experiences as I bounced across the country and parts of Europe . I broke the cardinal of rule of leaving one gig without another waiting for me and soon found myself working the proverbial day job at a camera store back in my home town of Houston , Texas . They say all true blessings are disguised. This was certainly true of my day job. The exposure to camera equipment, technology and photographers turned my hobby into an obsession. Conveniently, as I have often told friends, photography's artistic skill set is exactly the same as music's and in this fortunate situation I blossomed.

After working my day job far too long I was encouraged to take my talents elsewhere. I did. Until then my photographic equipment had been living rent and expense free. It was time my camera got a job and paid its fair share the same as my guitar had been doing for years. That's when I started 2 North Photography. 2 North because that's where all three of us live. Second floor north wing of the hospital with all the other people who think art is a good way to make a living. 2 North residents aren't as crazy as you might think. As it turns out art is a great way to make a living. I might never have known if my sister hadn't given me that camera. It's all her fault.
